Today, students at HES kicked off Cub Quest experiences. We will spend six Friday afternoons, from now through December, doing something FUN. Students got to pick from groups like card games, puzzles, painting, crafts, nature, community service, drawing, construction crew, Japanese culture (they were pros with chopsticks), nail painting, exercise (they learned how to play Rugby), Pokémon Club, and Boys to Men (this is a leadership group and today included some martial arts). Based on the smiles and conversations at dismissal, it was the highlight of the week!

This is not required, and is simply a way for families to spend time together doing something fun. We can't wait to see how creative our families can be!

As we finish up National School Lunch Week, we want to say a huge thank you to our food service staff who work so hard to make sure our students are fed and ready to learn each day! As part of the celebration this week, they were honored at the state board meeting with a Kansans Can Award for Customer Service. You can see this award at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUAsU8uVXf8 and by going to the time stamp 4:02:30.

Surprise! Some of our talented HHS photography students will be hosting mini photo shoots for families, seniors, couples and individuals later this fall and in the spring. These photo shoots will be $25 with a minimum of 20 edited photos to the customer. A non-refundable deposit of $10 will be required to book.

We want to know which Sunday (for the upcoming fall session) would be the most popular and convenient for our customers, so we are seeking some feedback. We are looking at Nov. 16, Dec. 7 or 14. All photo shoots will take place during golden hour (evening time). Location TBA, but will be in or near Humboldt.

Any interested parties should contact Mrs. Phillips at Hailey.phillips@usd258.net. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to snapping some beautiful moments with you all!
