HMS having a great DAY AT THE K!!!

Are you ready for an adventure? Come join the Pride of Humboldt Middle School and High School bands as we journey through a treacherous tale of Michael Finnegan, the dragon slayer.
Our concert is on Tuesday, May 13th at 6:30 PM in the HHS auditorium.

Our 2nd grade Hawaiian Market is tomorrow from 2:00-3:00 in the elementary school gym. You are invited to come support their Kindness Scholarship and buy some of the amazing items the students have been working on!

Link to the form can be found on the Humboldt Middle School PTO facebook page! Students should also have access on Google Classroom.

HES 5th graders got a sneak peek into middle school life today! They visited 6th-grade classrooms, toured the school, and even tried out instruments they could play in band next year. Past and present students say this spring transition day eases nerves and helps them feel more prepared for what’s ahead.

Elementary field day is Friday, May 9th. K-2 students will go to the sports complex from 8:30-11:30, and 3-5 students will go from 12:00-3:00. Parents are welcome to come watch and support their children during the field day events.

Our final work night of the year! We are going to miss our seniors, Sophia, Anna and Shelby, so much.

5th-grade parents and families are invited to join us for a 5th-grade Moving Up Ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of our amazing 5th-grade class on Thursday, May 15th at 9:00 am. Students will receive 4th quarter awards and their 5th-grade diplomas.

State assessments are officially DONE — and what better way to celebrate than with a Sweet Sundae Treat! 🍦🎉
HMS students enjoyed a well-earned celebration after working so hard, and we’re so proud of their effort and perseverance. A HUGE thank you goes out to all of our amazing families for your constant support and encouragement during testing season. 🧡👏

Students in Intro to FACS made a s'mores sandwich today - a class pick. Students first had to choose a sandwich they deemed "best" and write a persuasive speech over it. Then, they had to present it to the class. Lastly, the class voted on which sandwich they wanted to make.

Don't forget to purchase your 2024-2025 Cub yearbook! Each yearbook costs $50. See Mrs. Phillips with any questions.

April is Alcohol Awareness Month. The purpose is to help raise awareness about the dangers of excessive alcohol use and supporting those affected by alcoholism.
Throughout the month, communities engage in events, share educational resources, and spark conversations focused on prevention and reducing the stigma of addiction.
The goal is to foster understanding, encourage early intervention, and support individuals on the path to recovery. Whether it’s preventing underage drinking, helping a friend seek help, or taking steps toward your own sobriety.
This year, Humboldt Middle School STUCO members, along with building principal Ron James and school counselor Darcie Croisant, took action by participating in Sticker Shock. This community initiative helps raise awareness about the heavy fines and legal consequences associated with providing alcohol to minors. Their efforts serve as a powerful reminder of the role we all play in promoting safety and responsibility.

Just a reminder that elementary class pictures are tomorrow, Thursday, April 24th. If you want to order a class picture, please return the order form and money by tomorrow.

Thank you so much to Pittsburg State University Department of Communication Assistant Professor Dr. Ken Ward for speaking to a few of the newspaper students yesterday. Dr. Ward had a plethora of journalism knowledge to share with us, and we so appreciated him taking time out of his day to visit us. It was so great to learn some valuable editing tips we will use in the future. Thanks again, Dr. Ward, for stopping by and visiting with us!

Fundraiser fun day!

Some action shots!
