A group of students traveled to Labette Community College for their Health Science Day. They learned about the college's options for degrees and certifications within the health science field.

Photo imaging students worked on action photography today during class. They practiced taking movement photos. They danced, skipped, moved and enjoyed the fresh air!

HMS Lady Cubs are attending and supporting the Pittsburg State Volleyball team this evening against Missouri Western.




Last first Cub Tracks edition for these two seniors, Anna and Shelby! Thank you both for all your dedication and time to the news magazine. EIC Anna especially worked so diligently to make this first issue a success. Thank you for everything you do, Anna!



Students in the intro to journalism course used new creative writing dice today. Each block has an attribute, characteristic or setting to write about. Students will be working on a creative writing essay based on the dice they rolled. This exercise introduces brainstorming and storyboarding, both essential parts of the writing process in journalism.




Our SRO was on site to greet kids this morning. Building relationships with students so they are comfortable reaching out to law enforcement when they need help is one of the primary goals of our SRO partnership with the City of Humboldt and Humboldt PD!
