
Seniors Colden Cook and Kyler Isbell took home a $500 check for earning 2nd place in the Allen County Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge for their Door Doctor business plan. Fellow senior Jaryt Hess won an award for having the Best Executive Summary. A total of 6 HHS students (seniors Cook, Hess, Isbell, Brigg Shannon and juniors Kalyn Baughn and Harper Dye) showed their entrepreneurial skills at the competition today at the Complex. Marmaton Valley High School also competed, taking first and third place.








Humboldt High School student journalists amassed 189 points and a second place finish in the 2025 Kansas Scholastic Press Association 3A/4A Prairie Regional contest.
A total of 48 entries will move on to the state contest.

The Cubs finished one point behind first place finisher and 4A school, Bishop Miege Catholic High School, which had 190 points. Girard High School finished in third place with 47 points. Eudora High School had 33 in fourth place while Caney Valley High School scored 28 in fifth place. Sixth place went to Winfield High School (27 points) and Beloit High School finished in 7th place with 4 points.
