We are planning a controlled dismissal today at all buildings. Students are allowed to continue with their normal plans after school, but students riding the bus or getting picked up will wait inside the building. If you would like to change plans for your child, please contact the school office.

Mr Jones is teaching rhythm in choir class today with buckets and sticks. Students are enjoying this hands on learning experience while also learning how to read and understand music.

We want to inform you that USD 258 schools are currently in a modified lockdown. A broad threat was made to area schools, with no specific details given. Out of an abundance of caution, we have increased police presence at each school, and students will remain inside the buildings throughout the day.

This weeks students were recognized for helping their peers in need, pushing in chairs, helping teachers with classroom clean up, and improving their efforts and attitudes. You are invited to the Humboldt Elementary School Open House on Monday, September 9th, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. You will be able to visit your child's classroom, meet the teacher, and see what has been happening during the first few weeks of school. We hope you can join us!

WOW what an amazing first full week! The following students were recognized with Operation Orange certificates today for opening doors for adults, peers, having a positve attitude, sitting with others when they were alone, and helping push in and organize chairs during lunch! Keep up the awesome work HMS!!

Ms. Jones' advanced art students are working to submit a design for the Allen County Sheriff's Department School Resource Officer's truck wrap. Students from Marmaton Valley & Iola will also create submissions. The hope is to debut the new truck wrap at Farm City Days this Fall.

Dental consent forms are heading home with all students. If you would like for your child to receive services from CHC, please fill out the forms and send back to school by September 9th. All other students that do not return a form will just have their teeth looked at. For any questions please call the building that your child attends and speak with a nurse.
