The Cub Tracks news staff is working diligently on the first news magazine of the semester, which publishes Friday, Oct. 18.

HHS Stuco members are attending the KSHAA Stuco Leadership Conference at Pittsburg High School. Our students dressed to impress.

We have some Amazing students at HMS!! Our Opperation Orange recipients this week were recognized for having positive attitudes, opening doors for teachers, picking up trash in another town on the away bench, always having smiles on their faces and postive attitudes 🧡

We love school family day at HES!! Today is the 1st official day of school families and kids were so excited!

Seniors and juniors in Mrs. Phillips' yearbook class listened to a College 101 presentation from Himee Kamatuka, recruitment coordinator at the University of Kansas' William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications, and Natalie Lindsey, digital media specialist at the J-School. Thank you so much Himee and Natalie for spending time with our students today!

HMS hallways got a little brighter this afternoon!!

8th grade STEM students in Mr. Weilert's class were testing their structural engineering skills today!

3rd grade had so much fun celebrating the end of our first Amplify unit with a Tea Party!

Good morning. We are currently aware of continued posts regarding school violence being circulated nationally. Law enforcement has investigated and believe at this time they originated out of state and do not pose a local threat. We take all concerns of this nature very seriously and will continue to have a higher sense of security in our buildings and will be making some adjustments to internal procedures. We will continue to work with law enforcement and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the safety of students and staff.

This past Friday, August 30th, Mr. Jones started teaching his 6th grade general music class about the art of Bucket Drumming. This is a form of art that they will get to learn a lot about and even perform in this style in the fall concert this year.

Mrs. Nickell's Culinary Arts 2 class got to break in the new stoves by making browned butter chocolate chip cookies! 🍪
