Seniors and juniors in Mrs. Phillips' yearbook class listened to a College 101 presentation from Himee Kamatuka, recruitment coordinator at the University of Kansas' William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications, and Natalie Lindsey, digital media specialist at the J-School. Good morning. We are currently aware of continued posts regarding school violence being circulated nationally. Law enforcement has investigated and believe at this time they originated out of state and do not pose a local threat. We take all concerns of this nature very seriously and will continue to have a higher sense of security in our buildings and will be making some adjustments to internal procedures. We will continue to work with law enforcement and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the safety of students and staff.

This past Friday, August 30th, Mr. Jones started teaching his 6th grade general music class about the art of Bucket Drumming. This is a form of art that they will get to learn a lot about and even perform in this style in the fall concert this year.
Mrs. Nickell's Culinary Arts 2 class got to break in the new stoves by making browned butter chocolate chip cookies! 🍪
