Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Scholarship

Sam Walton Community Scholarship
To qualify for this scholarship, a student must be a involved with community service and cannot be related to a Wal-Mart associate.  For more information and an application, visit www.walmartfoundation.org

McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit by owning and operating their own businesses while in high school. Students must attend a four-year college.

Tradition of Caring Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is for students interested in a career in nursing.  An essay is required for the competition.  See Mr. Feeback for an application.

ESA Foundation Scholarship

Robert C. Byrd Scholarship Program
Students must exhibit outstanding academic achievement and must show promise of continued achievement. Requirements: 3.85+ GPA and 32+ ACT. Amount: TBA Deadline: February 5

The Kansas Association of Directors of Plant Facilities
KADPF will award one scholarship to graduating seniors of custodial workers who wish to continue their education at the college level. Any graduating who is a legal dependant of custodial workers shall be eligible for this scholarship.
Amount: $500 Deadline: February 14

Cargill FFA Scholarships
Students are awarded based on academic achievement in extracurricular and civic activities.
Amount: $1000 Deadline: February 15  

USA Funds Access to Education Scholarships
This scholarship is for high school seniors or enrolling college students. Students should have an annual family income of less than $35,000. Burger King Scholars Program

G.C. Morris/Paul Rupp Memorial Scholarship Fund
To qualify for this scholarship, a student must be recommended by an Automotive Parts & Services Association (APSA) member. Students must also plan on enrolling as a full-time undergraduate in a curriculum leading to a degree or certificate in an accreditied college, university, or technical institute.

This scholarship is for students that will be attending a Kansas college and majoring in either natural resources or photography curriculum.

The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year

Kansas Board of Regents Vocational Education Scholarship Program
To apply for the vocational scholarship students must be a Kansas resident, graduate from an accredited high school, plan to enroll full time in a designated vocational program in Kansas, and take the designated vocational scholarship test which is given twice a year.

Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year
The SAMMY 2007 Award Program recognizes outstanding scholar athletes throughout the U.S. Judging of the nominees will be based on academic performance, athletic excellence, leadership, community service, and milk experience. Apply online at www.bodybymilk.com.

R.E. French Family Educational Foundation
This scholarship is offered to students entering institutions of higher learning in the semester following their high school graduation.

Senator Robert J. Dole Public Service Scholarship Program

This award has been established to assist students interested in obtaining an education in the fields of teaching, bookkeeping, and carpentery. Students must have graduated from an Allen County high school.

Kansas County Clerks and Election Officials Scholarship
Students applying for this scholarship should intend to major in Journalism, Political Science, or Communications and have a 3.0+ GPA.

This award is based primarily on character. Other considerations include: Attending a college or vo-tech in the state of Kansas, financial need, and future plans. Amount: TBA Deadline: April 15

Dakota Karr
This scholarship is for students that have shown an interest in graphic design and plan on attending college or vocational training to pursue a degree in design.

Dean A. McGee
This award considers an applicant’s scholarship, participation in school and civic activities, financial situation, leadership qualities, citizenship, and attitudes. Amount: TBA Deadline: April 15

Lindsey Friederich
This award is based on a student’s extracurricular activities, community involvement, and a 250-word essay.

Bryan J. Dunn
To receive this scholarship, a student must have consistently been involved as an athlete during his/her high school career and be in good standing. Amount: TBA Deadline: April 15

Mark A. Sanchez
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must have been a member of the Humboldt High School Varsity Football team, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA and submit letters of recommendation from two Humboldt High School faculty members and one Varsity Football Coach. Additionally, you will be required to submit a brief narrative describing your future college and career plans.

Moles/Hofer Teacher Education Scholarship
Students applying for this scholarship must meet the following criteria:  Female, 3.5+ GPA, attend an accredited college or university, and declare teacher education as their major.  Students must submit an essay describing career goals and reasons for entering the field of education.
Amount:  $1,000 Deadline:  April 15

Steve Harper Scholarship
This scholarship is available for students planning to study photography or natural resources at a four-year college or university in the state of Kansas. Applications are available in the counseling office.
Amount: $1,000 Deadline: April 15

Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants
To qualify for this scholarship students must rank high in the ACT or SAT examinations, attend a Kansas university or college, and plan to major in accounting. The testing company, teacher, or counselor must send ACT scores to the KSPCA Educational Foundation by March 5. Students must then complete a short questionnaire.
Amount: $500-1,300 Deadline: April 14

Cooks For Kids
Students interested in this scholarship must plan on continuing their education at the college level, need funding to continue their education, and must be a regular participant in the school lunch program.
Amount: $100 Deadline: April 16

Coterie Scholarship
Recipients of this scholarship must plan to attend a four year university, junior college, or trade/specialty school. Final decision from the scholarship committee will be based on scholastic achievement, overall citizenship characteristics, and financial need.

Helen Gates Whitehead Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students who major in the fields of graphic arts, fine arts, or home economics. Recipients of fine arts degrees or graphic arts scholarships may attend an accredited college or university of their choice. Recipients of home economics scholarships must pursue their education at KSU.

Bill Spaniol Memorial Scholarship
The Kansas Environmental Health Association is offering the annual Bill Spaniol Memorial Scholarship to students planning to attend college during the 2007-2008 school year. The Edward Zahn Agricultural Scholarship
Students applying for this scholarship must be an agriculture major and maintain a 2.0+ GPA.  Students must live in the Zahn house and dedicate at least 20 hours per week of work assigned by the farm manager.

Kansas University Scholarships
John Kurtis Ostenberg Memorial Scholarship
One scholarship will be awarded to a meritorious Kansas resident who has an interest in wildlife and the natural environment.  Students must remain a biology major and must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Visit www.kuub@ku.edu for more information.

Balanced Man Scholarship

Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarship

ELITE (Enhancing Lives Through Technology and Engineering) Scholarship

Gorilla’s Choice Scholarship Program

Individuals who are chosen to receive the award will be featured in a 60 second segment on the KSN news and compete with other honorees to receive a scholarship ($2,000 if the student attends Pittsburg State University and $1,000 if the student attends another institution).

Navy ROTC Scholarship Program
Students need acceptance to a four-year college or university, 22+ Math/English ACT score, U.S. Citizenship, and a passing score on the Navy physical.

Army ROTC Scholarship Program
Students interested in the ROTC program must have an ACT score (Recommended 24+), have good high school grades, pursue an Army-approved academic major, accept a commission as either a U.S. Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard Officer, and meet physical standards.
