Library Services

The Humboldt Public Library has a well-rounded collection of materials. These items are available both in-house and (except for reference materials) for check out. Available to the public are approximately: 17,000 books (including 300 in large print); 58 periodical subscriptions, 340 video cassettes, 60 reels of micro film, 230 audio cassettes.

Library loans:
1 week: Video's, DVD's, Magazines, Encyclopedia's
2 weeks: Books, Audio

Interlibrary loan:
When the library does not have the book or other item that you need,we can try to obtain in for you on interlibrary loan. Except for rare or very recently published books (within the last 6 months), we obtain most items in this manner. When the book you requested arrives, we"ll notify you. You can come to the library, check it out, and return it here when you're finished.

Internet access:
Public access to the internet is provided. Users must sign in at the desk. Minors must have a permission card signed by parents on file in order to use the internet.

Children's programs:
In the summer time story time sessions are scheduled and are open to children from ages 4-8 years old, And there are occasional special events are also held throughout the year for children and young adults.
