The Humboldt School District is committed to helping each student reach key educational benchmarks, including the ability not only to retain educational material but also to competently apply these skills as a lifetime learner. In the Humboldt School District, curriculum is defined as “the what.” The district’s curriculum outlines represent what students are expected to know and be able to do. Instruction is “how” the district supports student learning. Teachers and administrators will differentiate, based on student needs, in order for all students to meet and exceed expectations. In addition, assessment is the means by which the district determines student mastery and proficiency based on defined expectations.
Elementary students receive a strong foundation in reading, language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
