During the second quarter, the Cubs and the Yellowjackets both scored six points a piece. The team scored 16 points in the third quarter and six in the fourth, not letting the Yellowjackets make any touchdowns.

After 48 minutes of playing, the Cubs came home with another win.

“Knowing that we can go further than any other team in Humboldt High history with such a minimal number of players motivates us to do well,” said Drake Tilman, sr.

The game was a shutout with a score of 38-0. The cubs also won league with a record
score of 6-0 for the season so far. This Friday night's game will be against
St. Mary's Colgan at home starting at 7 pm. Parent's Night festivities will take place before the game.

Winning the Homecoming football game last Friday against the Neodesha Bluestreaks also brought the league title back to Humboldt for the second year in a row.

“It feels special to be a part of a team that has won back to back league titles,” said Devin Myers, sr. “Everybody doubted us and said we were too small of a football team to do anything, but we proved them wrong.”

The game against the Bluestreaks was the team’s third shut-out this year. In the first quarter the Cubs scored 19 points, not letting the Bluestreaks score a touchdown.

In the second quarter the Cubs scored 19 points once again and still did not allow the Bluestreaks to score any points.

During the third and fourth quarters neither team scored any touchdowns or field goals.

“The team plays so well together because we are all close to each other, and we all work well together. Each of us does our job, and we get ‘er done. It felt great to have a shut-out game especially on Homecoming night,” said Scott Sollars, jr.

Tonight the Cubs will go to battle against St. Mary’s Colgan, another undefeated team, at home. The game is scheduled to begin following the Parent’s Night Ceremony.
