Students in today’s society feel many pressures from
outside sources to use their money in different ways.
While their parents or guardians may encourage them to save for future necessities
such as college or future living expenses, their peers often send them vibes
to spend their money on things that might not be needed such as clothing or
entertainment.
These are not the only pressures that students face regarding money. Society
often encourages teenagers to be free with their money either by applying
for credit cards or occasionally using ATM machines. There is even a high
school in New York that has an ATM machine within the building.
Advertising sends strong signals to teens to spend their
money on different items of interest or to apply for credit cards which can
often lead to debt for inexperienced users who might not understand the concept
of interest rates.
With all of these pressures added to teens, it can be very difficult to save
their earnings or allowance and follow the advice of people who have already
experienced what they are or will be facing.
As an editorial board, we agree that while students should be able to splurge
every once in a while to enjoy being an adolescent, they should also try to
be responsible and save money as well.
We suggest that teens should open a savings account and try to save more money
than they spend. They could even save a certain percentage of every paycheck.
In the end, it is up to every individual to decide how to manage cash. However,
there are many expenses that will arise in the future, and teens need to be
prepared for them.
High school students, whether they know it or not, may be
throwing much of their money away on trivial things. Many people believe that
money was made to be spent, even though it is also beneficial to make sure
people have enough to get by in life.
There are several reasons for not blindly spending money where it is not necessarily
needed. The main reason students should save money is to have enough to pay
for college and to prepare themselves for the real world.
Many students will probably get into a nasty habit of constantly
spending their money on things they likely do not need. This pattern will
haunt them when they are in debt and when they need to put earnings away in
savings and investments or for insurance. If students are in this position,
then they may not be able to afford going to a university or to pay for a
home of their own in the future.
Every teenager needs to practice organizing their allowance or income and
save their money for the bigger picture. This will be beneficial to every
student and will keep them from having a life of debt and unemployment. As
I said before, students need to stop and think ahead of time what they want
to do with themselves and their money in their future years to be able to
achieve what they have planned.
In the end, it is a personal choice. People should decide if they want to
go to their ideal college or university or stay at home and not get an education.
People need to follow whatever decision that will improve themselves and save
their allowance not just for their own welfare, but also for their families
and future plans.
Teens should be able to spend their money the way that
they want, especially if they have a job and earn their own money.
Many students in high school have jobs, and since they have taken on that
extra adult responsibility and work hard for their money, they should be
given the opportunity to spend the money they earn on the things that they
want to buy.
However, when teens spend their money, they should spend it on the things
that they need first such as clothing and food. After that, I see no reason
as to why they can not spend what is left over on the fun things in life.
Students will have plenty of time to worry about saving
their money and paying bills after they graduate and move out of their parent’s
homes. They should take advantage of being young and having few responsibilities
while they can. This means that students should not have to feel guilty
about purchasing things like candy, cds, video games, or movie tickets.
Sure, they could decide to save some of the money that they earn, but the
point is, they should have the choice to make that decision and not be forced
into saving their money. I prefer to spend my money on clothes, shoes, makeup
and other items. Some people might view this as not being responsible with
my money, but that is how I choose to spend it, and I should have that right.
In the end, students should be responsible enough to first spend their money
on necessary items and then on things that might not be as important.
If teens do choose to spend their money on extra, fun items, they also need
to not blame anyone else if they run out, and they should not go running
to their parents or friends to get extra money. They made the choice to
spend what they had, and they need to live with the consequences. However,
the choice about how to spend the money they earn should be left up to them.
Although most people have only recently heard of the band
Hinder because of their single, “Lips of an Angel,” the group
was formed in Oklahoma City more than five years ago.
The band’s journey started when guitarist Joe Garvey and drummer Cody
Hanson heard Austin Winkler singing at a dorm party in college. From there,
the three started a band.
Shortly after the forming of the original three members, Mike King and Mike
Rodden also joined the act, and the band started landing gigs for local acts.
After signing with Universal in 2005, their first album sold 5,000 copies.
They followed with the release of their next album, Extreme Behavior and finally
their most recent, Lips of an Angel.
All of Hinder’s albums are worth listening to. They are a really good
band that brings rock-n-roll back into people’s lives, which was one
of their goals from the beginning. They did not want to be a faceless rock
band; instead, they wanted to rock out like the bands in the 80s.
Hinder’s members live life by having fun, and they have a great goal
that when they go out on stage and have fun, they will show people that have
never heard the group how to have a good time and be themselves.
Because of the beliefs that Hinder shows through their music, people fall
in love with them.
Most of band’s songs focus on understanding life and helping their fans
understand more about the lives that they lead. By doing so, they hope to
bring understanding to their fans concerning life’s mysteries.
Listening to Hinder’s music is a good way for me get things off my chest
and help me cope with things that I need to understand.
Hinder’s songs talk about love a lot and how the band members lost loves
in their lives. They also talk about how they wish they could have done something
different so they would not lose them.
“Lips of an Angel” is a song talking about how a guy loves a girl,
but they had problems and broke up. They still want to be with each other
but they have other loves in their lives. They seem to not be able to get
over each other.
Lips of an Angel is a good cd, and I think that high school students would
love listening to it. It is worth the money it costs to buy the album.
I listen to it because there are several things that I do not understand about
life sometimes and listening to their music helps me to understand.
