Karna Carlson, so. I moved here from Erie, because there was trouble in the Erie school district.
My dad and brother teach here, it’s horrible. My dad says things about me all the time, and there’s nothing I can do about it. My favorite type of music is country. I went to a Dierks Bentley concert this summer, it was a lot of fun.
My plans after highschool are to attend Kansas State University.

Nick Crepinsek, so. I moved here from Chanute because we found a bigger house. I’ve been able to make friends quicker since Humboldt is a lot smaller. An interesting trip in my lifetime I went to the warped tour this past summer. My role model is my dad because he always helps me with problems I have. My personal intrests are listening to music, and doing some aggressive skating.

Joshua Culp, fr. I moved here from Parsons Alternative, which is a lot smaller than Humboldt. It was an easy transition for me, and I don’t really miss anything. My favorite classes are math and physical education. I plan on playing golf in the spring. I am a... funny person with a bad temper. My plans after highschool are to attend college and maybe go into mechanics.

Derek Harris, jr. I used to go to Chanute High School. Even though Humboldt's a lot smaller,
I'm still making friends just as easily. I really enjoy playing football. I play it for the love of the game, and also because we've got good coaches here, too. My hero is Derek Thomas of the Kansas City Cheifs. I was named after him! After high school Iwant to go to college and become a Marine Corps officer.

Marty Hebeler, so. I moved here from Colony, because my mom wanted to live here. Humboldt is a lot bigger. There are twice as many students. My personal intrests are playing golf, and going to Colony to hang out with my friends. I also plan on playing on the basketball team this coming season. My plans after high school are going to Oklahoma State Univeristy to major in business and sales, and playing golf.

Eric Maxson, fr. I moved here from Iola. I like it better here, because it’s easier and I get along with the people. I already knew the P.E. teacher here, because he used to be the Iola vice principal. My role model is my dad. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be playing football. I would describe myself as quiet, but easy to talk to. After high school, I plan to go to college to become a mechanic.

Yulia Mosley, fr. I used to live in Russia. I was born there and lived there for 11 1/2 years. I speak three different languages: English, Russian, and Ukranian. My hero is is my mom, because she stayed strong throughout the whole moving process. She is also working very hard on improving her English. After high school, I plan on going to college somewhere far away from Kansas and majorin in psychology.

Donna Porter, jr. I moved here from Prairie View, Lacygne. My role model is a teacher I had named Mrs. Cruise. She wouldn’t move on to a new subject until everyone understood the old one, no matter how long it took. My personal intrests are music, espeically rock, like Aerosmith, AC/DC, and Ozzy Osbourne. I also enjoy playing on the computer.

Chloe Romine, fr. I moved here from Arkansas to be closer to my grandparents, but I’ve lived here before. It was difficult to move away from all my friends. People would say that I can be pretty weird and spunky. My personal interests are hanging out with my friends, shopping, and going swimming. After high school I plan on attending a college in Arizona to become a doctor.

Channing Stirewalt, fr. I moved here from Chanute. My old school doesn’t have an FFA program, but Humboldt does. I want to get involved in judging animals. My heroes are my friends. I look up to them because they have always been a positive influence on my life. My plans after high school are to go to college, probably to K-State. I want to train to become a pilot at aviation school.

Mark Valentine, jr. I moved here from Iola, but I live in Elsmore. The classes here are a lot smaller, but I know quite a few people here already. An interesting trip in my lifetime was when I once went hiking in Colorado for two weeks. My role model would be my dad, because he runs a bowling alley that he owns himself. I would say that I’m a responsible person, but I like to have fun, too.

“ I think that the students here at Humboldt High School still take as much pride in their school as what we did.”
“ I don’t think I will ever be able to call [any of my former high school teachers] by their first names. However, it is neat to be their colleague and have them respect my thoughts and ideas.”

Hailey Schoendaller
English I, English IV, Scholars’ Bowl sponsor, Junior Class Sponsor, Middle School Volleyball Assistant Coach
“ [My funniest memory as a teacher would be when] I had a student who always ate things, like paper, plastic, erasers, etc... So, I was constantly confiscating items from him or making him spit things in the trash.”
“ [In high school,] I was very outgoing and involved in activities, clubs, sports, and publications.I spent a lot of time with my friends, but doing well in school was very important to me.”

Briana Wilkerson

“ I appreciate [teachers] even more now than I did [in high school]. I try to stay in contact with most of them because it’s nice for them to hear from former students!”
“ The biggest change [since I was in high school] would be the hairstyles and clothes. For the most part, the dynamics of high school have not changed. The atmosphere is lively and fast paced.”
