About Our Schools
USD #258 Humboldt School District is proud to offer small class sizes and a comprehensive educational program for students from preschool through adults. We serve our student population through a variety of educational programs and services ranging from Special Education, to concurrent enrollment college courses with Allen Community College.
The school district provides preschool education to qualifying students at the Humboldt Early Childhood Education Center. Students in Kindergarten through fifth grade are served at the Humboldt Elementary Charter School, where all day Kindergarten is offered. Students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 attend Humboldt Middle School. Humboldt High School serves students in grades 9 through 12. Humboldt High School offers a comprehensive high school instructional program, including coursework identified for the Kansas Regent’s curriculum, concurrent class offerings with Allen Community College, a variety of elective course offerings along with a strong emphasis on Career and Technical Education courses. In addition to the regular high school program, USD 258 offers a variety of alternative educational services for both high school and adult learners.
Increasingly, within Humboldt, Allen County, and beyond, the district is being recognized as a learning community that exemplifies achievement. Our students consistently score in the exemplary range on state assessments. A large percentage of our students are involved in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities providing for a well-rounded educational experience. The district has achieved AYP in all areas tested since the inception of NCLB. Every year since NCLB the elementary school, the middle school, and the high school have achieved the prestigious Kansas State Department of Education’s “Standard of Excellence” recognition in numerous tested areas. Various grade levels throughout the district have been awarded the state wide “Challenge Award” from the Confidence In Kansas Public Education Task Force. This award recognizes schools for outstanding achievement and uncommon accomplishment based on Kansas Assessment results, the sample size, and the socio-economic status of those taking the test. During the 2007-2008, 2008-2009, and 2009-2010 school years, US News and World Report recognized Humboldt High School as one of the best high schools in America. Humboldt High School also boasts State Championships in Basketball, Football, Golf, Track, Powerlifting, FFA, and Journalism just to name a few.
USD #258 is very proud of the recognition our students receive. These awards represent a commitment from the students, staff, and parents working together to achieve success.
